Attracting Young People to Your industry
At the Schools Industry Partnership we frequently get approached by industries wanting to attract young people to join their workforce. Typically the industry has already spent a fortune on glossy brochures, noisy DVDs or flashy web sites, but as welcome as these resources are, employers soon learn that today's students are almost immune to all this noise and chatter. Pretending to be all cool on facebook won't work either, as teenagers see marketing hype as hype- no matter what media it comes through. So if this doesn't work, what does? The short answer is ...
OHS and Insurance
Work Placement students are not paid workers. As such their insurances are covered by the school system. Students are unpaid and inducted to industry OHS practices before being placed with you.
More than Work Experience
The students we are seeking Work Placements for are actually studying your industry as part of their HSC. Students are looking to practice industry related skills beyond what is learnt in the classroom.
