Group Training Organisations are generally non-profit groups that employ Trainees and Apprentices and on-hire them to employers.

GTOs are often industry or regional specific. for example the Master Plumbers are specialists for the plumbing industry, whereas Skillswest is a regional scheme covering Western Sydney for most trades.
