There are over 2000 apprenticeships and traineeships filled in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Penrith region each year.

The following attachment is a breakdown by trade and Local Government Area .

It serves as a guide as to how many of each type of Traineeship and Apprenticeship may be on offer each year.

You will see that some industries offer both Traineeships and Apprenticeships, sometimes even at the same of similar qualification. Other Trades only offer the traditional 4 year apprenticeship.

You can also see that some highly prized occupations like photographers and sound engineers are very rare as traineeships. In fact they are not easy to find as permanent or casual jobs either.

That's not to say that you won't be the one who lands such a job, but it does serve as a caution that maybe a Plan B would also be a wise strategy.

And finally remember that some jobs require Uni or other qualifications as a minimum, so some research will be required.
