Most TAFE colleges run Pre-Apprenticeship courses at the start of the year and less later, unless they get lucky with funding. Most course run for months, but can then cut twice that amount of time off you trade time as an apprentice! You get to tradesperson wages faster!

Your Careers Adviser at School often has details of any courses running, but it is very common for notice of courses to only be a day or two in advance.
